As we consider how to live in a conscious way, an critical aspect is the relationship we have with ourselves. The inner voice, how we speak to ourselves on the inside is a large part of how we manage this relationship. This mini retreat will hold space for you and guide you relate your thoughts to your body sensation to produce a compassionalte outcome.
If you have an unhelpful or critical inner voice, this mini retreat is for you! Perhaps you notice a critical voice when you go to start a new creative project, or maybe you made a mistake and now your inner voice is berating you, or when you accidentally hurt someone’s feelings your inner bully comes out to call you names. Many of us have a harsh or critical inner voice like these. It may seem harmless because no one else can hear it, but in fact it lowers your quality of life, and negatively impacts your mental health.
An InnerAlly (or inner friend) represents a loving and compassionate inner voice. The InnerAlly Process allows you to better understand yourself and how to best support and encourage yourself. The InnerAllies are a cast of research-based characters designed to guide you towards your highest inner self.
You will be guided to:
- Assess the way you relate to yourself
- Identify places within that can be better supported
- Create a team of Allies to guide you, and
- Craft customized inner language to help you thrive
If you can relate to being hard on yourself (maybe even much harder than you would be on anyone else), then the InnerAlly process is for you.
This mini retreat will be facilitated by Cynthia Phelps, who developed the InnerAlly process as a way to fill a gap in the self-compassion training that existed on the market, and to sooth her own raging inner voice.
